An envelope by any other name, Army Form Z.53 was a "cover for certificates and other documents of a soldier on demobization, transfer to the Reserve, or Discharge". This particualr form dates to 1919.
Hi I bought a victorian bible today dated from 1883. and stumbled across a z.53 form inside one of the inner pages which led me to your post. it only contained the outer envelope and inside was an envelope with various people this person knew and there dates of birth. I am intrigued to find out what these envelopes would have contained any more knowledge on this would be great fully received thankyou for your post on this :)
